2006 | I started Hokudai/Cast with four Hokuriku University students. Hokudai/Cast is a podcast in English, Japanese, and Chinese. It's about learning a foreign language, living abroad, and music. In fact, we have music on all of the podcasts. Please check out Hokudai/Cast on iTunes or our website.
1998 | I began teaching at Hokuriku University. I learned about online language learning and other Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) ideas or Technology Enhanced Language Learning (TELL)
1992 | I started teaching at Kanazawa Institute of Technology. I co-wrote two text-books for engineers who needed to learn English.
1989 | I started teaching at Asia University in Tokyo. I co-wrote, co-direct, and edited an hour-long video for language learners and developed my video skills.
1987 | I lived in Los Angeles. I watched movies being made, went to underground parties, and met people who were trying to be actors. Of course, I wrote a screenplay. Everyone writes screenplays in LA. Except people who want to be actors.
1979 | I started
teaching in Kyushu to start my 29
year relationship with Japan. In Kyushu I taught English, studied
Japanese, and learned how to ride a motorcycle on Japanese roads - very
exciting.
1972|
I graduated from
the
University of Washington and started working in a steel mill in
Seattle, three different restaurants in Wisconsin, and one restaurant
in Tacoma, Washington. (Not at the same time, of course.)
Somewhere in there I lived in
New York City - a
very exciting city.
